Ingredients: Zizyphus Jujuba Leaf Powder
100% chemical additives-free! There’s only what you read in the ingredients list!
SIDR (Zizyphus Jujuba) is a fruit tree in the Rhamnaceae also known as Chinese date.
It’s a healing, ayurvedic herb, 100% pure, and it derives from the plant’s leaves that are dried and then powdered. Sidr powder leaves contain saponins, lots of mucilages, flavonoids, tannins, vitamins, iron and mineral salts (manganese, silicon, calcium, phosphorus).
FOR EXTERNAL USE ONLY!
Nota bene!
You can use it on light and bleached hair only AFTER doing a trial test on a hidden strand of hair.
How to use
FOR EXTERNAL USE ONLY!.
Do an allergy test on the upper part of your inner arm (at the crook of the elbow) 48 hours before applying it. Subjects predisposed to develop allergies can have an allergic reaction, even if the product is 100% natural.
Nota bene!
Sidr can be used on light or bleached hair only after doing a test on a hidden strand of hair. Even if it doesn’t contain dyeing molecules, it may change your hair color. If you have light hair or if you have chemically dyed hair it may make it look darker or it may give your hair unexpected / unwanted highlights.
Sidr can act as a substitute for shampoo because it contains many saponins, but you can’t use it as a traditional shampoo.
How much Sidr should you use?
It depends on how long and how thick your hair is. Around:
- 30-50 grams if you have short hair
- 70-90 grams if you have long hair
TIPS:
- Add warm water to the SIDR powder. Slowly, so the powder can absorb it
- Mix it vigorously until you have a homogeneous mix, that should have the same consistency of a crepes batter
- If it has lumps you can mix it with a blender
- After waiting 5 minutes, spread and massage the mix delicately on your scalp and on your hair roots for a few minutes
- Then spread the remaining mix on your hair lengths to take advantage of its moisturizing properties
- Sidr DOES NOT create a foam as a normal shampoo, but it washes your hair perfectly
- To have a stronger purifying effect on the scalp and a stronger moisturizing effect on your lengths, you can let the mix sit on your hair for about 30 minutes, with your hair covered in plastic wrap
- Rinse with abundant cold water
- Use a small quantity of conditioner on your lengths and always do an acid rinse with cold water and vinegar for shiny and voluminous hair
-
On the skin you can use it as a mask and you can keep it on for 15 minutes.
You can create other effective mixes by adding hydrated fenugreek gel to your Sidr powder, or other washing flours like chickpea flour.
Close the bag tightly after use. Keep out of the reach of children. Store away from air, heat, light, and moisture.

Tips
SIDR - Zizyphus Jujuba
is perfect for all hair and skin types. It’s excellent because of its delicate action for those who must wash their hair frequently.
It’s a healing ayurvedic herb, 100% pure. It purifies your skin, strengthens and moisturizes hair. It leaves your hair voluminous, strong and soft.
It soothes your scalp and has an astringent effect on the skin leaving it purified and glossy.
If you have bleached or light hair, you must always do a trial test before applying SIDR on your hair. Natural blond hair might become darker, yellow-ish, and it can give green-ish highlights to bleached hair.
SIDR powder can be mixed with other healing herbs, like methi or amla, to create your own ayurvedic treatment, customized on your own needs, or it can be mixed to other washing flours like chickpea flour to have a stronger washing effect.

If you mix it with Lawsonia (Red Henna), it may make your hair look darker and it may give you a colder orange/coppery tone.
It can help preventing Katam or Indigo wash out. This effect, however, is subjective.
It can also be a valid alternative to Cassia in your herbal hair colors mix.

F.A.Q
Frequently Asked Questions:
- Sidr or Cassia?
They are very similar because they help strengthen your hair without having an impact on your hair color. In many shops you can find Sidr under the name of “neutral henna”. The only way to know for sure what you are buying is reading the ingredients list and see if the main ingredient is Cassia Obovata or Zizyphus Jujuba.
- What’s the difference between Cassia and Sidr?
Sidr, unlike Cassia, has a washing effect and can be used as a conditioner. Cassia may dry your hair a little more than Sidr because Cassia, unlike Sidr, doesn’t contain mucilages. You can avoid dryness using flaxseeds gel or hydrated fenugreek gel in your mix.
Cassia is a legume so it can cause allergic reaction to whom suffers from favism, while it’s more unlikely that Sidr (from the Rhamnaceae plants family) can cause an allergy reaction.
- Does Sidr dye hair?
No, Sidr unlike Cassia, doesn’t contain dyeing molecules, so there’s no pigment release on your hair, that’s why it shouldn’t change your hair color, even if it’s light. But, in order to avoid unpleasant surprises, I recommend you always do a test on a hidden strand of hair.
- I can’t stand these herbs' smell, what can I do?
Always do an acid rinse to remove the smell from your hair: Shiny & Soft Hair with an Acid Rinse: Apple Vinegar or Lemon?
Or, as an alternative, to cover its smell you can use scented hair-styling products or leave-in sprays, like Beautilicious Delights hair spray, available in two versions: anti-frizz & volumizing.

Sidr (Zizyphus Jujuba) powder has proven to give excellent results as a washing agent even if used alone. It also gives hair softness and volume. Thanks to its delicate action is the perfect ally for your daily routine!
You can also create effective hair washing mixes adding SIDR to hydrated fenugreek gel or other washing flours, like chickpea flours: Wash Your Hair Naturally with Flours: chickpea flour and...
